Marker balls are required to be provided in aviation zones in any span where the low point of the shield wire (OPGW/ OHGW) catenary is above 90 m AGL (Above Ground Level), which is equivalent to the low point of bottom conductor catenary at approximately 63 m AGL. Marker balls shall be placed on the top OHGW and OPGW, for aircraft warning.

1) Marker balls are required to be provided in aviation zones in any span where the low point of the shield wire (OPGW/ OHGW) catenary is above 90 m AGL (Above Ground Level), which is equivalent to the low point of bottom conductor catenary at approximately 63 m AGL. Marker balls shall be placed on the top OHGW and OPGW, for aircraft warning. 2) Marker Balls shall be evenly spaced along the OHGW/ OPGW, at a maximum of 60m intervals. 3) Unlighted Marker Balls shall alternate on OHGW and OPGW with aviation colors: Orange, White, and Red, with aviation Orange markers always positioned at each end. 4) If less than four (4) marker balls (lighted or unlighted) are on the OHGW/ OPGW, all marker balls shall be aviation Orange. 5) Crossings with multiple transmission lines require additional marker balls when the outside lines on the adjacent structure are more than 60 m from the center of the primary structure. 6) The Marker balls shall be EHV (Extra High Voltage) qualified, with a speci...

Tower beacon lights shall be fitted to towers in approaches to airports or in the normal flight paths of low flying aircraft or where helicopter traffic is present. The tower beacon lights shall conform to the requirements of the civil, military aviation and civil defense authorities and to the recommendations of the FAA and ICAO. Three layer lights would be placed on the top, at the lowest level of the conductor and in the middle.

Tower beacon lights shall be fitted to towers in approaches to airports or in the normal flight paths of low flying aircraft or where helicopter traffic is present. The tower beacon lights shall conform to the requirements of the civil, military aviation and civil defense authorities and to the recommendations of the FAA and ICAO. Three layer lights would be placed on the top, at the lowest level of the conductor and in the middle. All components in the light system are designed for ease in maintenance and to provide the required performance as specified by ICAO for a period of at least three years without any maintenance. The power input for the light system are supplied through solar power with a backup battery for day/night time operation. The system are able to deliver the light output during day time, twilight and night time operations automatically. ICAO compliant MIOL type B solar LED obstruction lighting system are are used at different types of obstacles such as airports, wind turbines, buildings, towers, the compact, integrated design is stand-alone, maintenance-free and includes a high-efficiency LED light source, solar panels and battery. The light is fully autonomous: it can operate in remote locations without recharging. Also the solar obstacle light is equipped with LED optics, compatible with Night Vision Goggles (NVG). The light can operate in visible mode, infrared (NVG) mode, or in both simultaneously.
