Telecommunication, GSM, Radio & TV, Broadcast, Antenna Tower/Mast-Aircraft Warning Light System for Night Marking

Radio masts and towers are, typically, tall structures designed to support antennas for telecommunications and broadcasting, including television. There are two main types: guyed and self-supporting structures. They are among the tallest human-made structures. Masts are often named after the broadcasting organizations that originally built them or currently use them.

In the case of a mast radiator or radiating tower, the whole mast or tower is itself the transmitting antenna.

Obstruction lights solutions and dedicated electric cabinets those Telecommunication, GSM, Radio & TV, Broadcast, Antenna Tower/Mast.

Whatever the tower function, every high structure has to be marked by an obstruction light, depending the height and the painting of the obstacle.
The number of obstacle lights and their arrangement on the pylon shall be such that the structure is indicated from every angle in azimuth.
If one of the beacons set up on the tower is not visible from one direction, one or more aircraft warning lights shall be added on it, in order to insure the beaconing of its complete contour.

INSTALLATION GUIDANCE

  • Tower beaconing less than 45 meters
A low intensity obstacle light type B red steady burning (32.5 cd) at the top of the tower has to be lighted the night.

  • Tower beaconing between 45 and 90 meters
Top with 1 medium intensity aviation obstruction Light(flashing, red led, 2000cd), 1/2 level install 1 low intensity aviation obstruction light(steady-on, red led, 32.5cd).

  • Tower beaconing between 90 and 150 meters
In the case of an unpainted tower, it is necessary to set up at the top a medium intensity obstacle light MIOL AB (white 20.000 cd for day / red 2.000 cd for night) and an obstruction light Low  Intensity Obstruction Light Type B 32 cd in the middle of the structure.
If the tower is higher than 105 meters, you have to add a beacon Medium Intensity Obstruction Light Type AB and a beacon Low  Intensity Obstruction Light Type B every 52 meters maximum.

  • Tower beaconing over 150 meters (no painting)
Upper 150 meters, the tower has to be beaconed by a high intensity obstacle light type A (200.000 cd day / 20.000 cd night) at its top, and every 105 meters.

  • Tower pylons beaconing over 150 meters
Higher than 150 meters, if the tower is painted red and white, it has to be beaconed with minimum two levels of Medium  Intensity Obstruction Light Type AB, at a 105 meters maximal distance, and two intermediary levels of Low  Intensity Obstruction Light Type B.

Night Marking Red Obstruction Light System for Transmission Tower

High-voltage lines are major hazards for low-flying aircraft. Placing beacons on pylons is not sufficient to ensure safety due to the very long spans of cable. - Day Marking The warning ball for high voltage lines is a visual anti-aircraft protection for overhead wires and OPGW wires in high voltage transmission lines. It is recommended that in the case of a sphere with a diameter of 60 cm, the high-voltage line should be marked every 30 meters at the most. - Night Marking Conductor marking lights serve as a specialized category of aircraft warning lights specifically crafted for overhead power lines. In contrast to overhead wire markers that rely on daylight, conductor marking lights are designed to be visible during nighttime. These lights enhance the visibility of transmission line catenary wires in the vicinity of airports, heliports, and locations spanning across rivers. It is built around induction and takes its power from the current of the line, by the intermediary of a multi-winding coil directly installed within the beacon. This allows our system to adapt to every line voltage.
