LED-based white flashing beacon(or white/red dual) for catenary utility tower lighting flashed in sequence to mark river and other catenary crossings. It meets all FAA and ICAO standards for marking towers used in canyon, gorge, and river crossings. Towers can be lighted by day (white beacon at 20,000 cd-ICAO MIOL, or 100,000 cd-ICAO HIOL) and at night (white or red beacon at 2,000 cd). The LED-based beacon dramatically reduces required maintenance and power consumption. The solar-powered tower package includes everything needed for the solar obstruction lighting system. Custom-sized solar power supplies provide power when grid power is unavailable. Systems are sized based on load and geographical location, which dictates solar irradiation. Usually, the system will power the lights with at least 7 days of autonomy, meaning the system can function at least 7 days in between charges.
