Aviation Red Obstruction Lights Installed in Beijing Airport

Aviation Red Obstruction Lights. Use flashing lights and/or steady-burning lights during nighttime. Tower structures are typically marked with flashing red lights. Buildings and smaller obstructions located near airports should be marked with steady-burning red lights.

 CK-15 Medium Intensity Obstruction Lights (MIOL), red light, multi-LED type. According to ICAO - Annex 14 - Medium Intensity Obstacle Lights Type B or Type C and FAA L-864.

Medium Intensity Obstacle Lights Type B should be used either alone or in combination with Low Intensity Obstacle Lights Type B for night mode, whereas Medium Intensity Obstacle Lights Type C should be used either alone or in combination with Medium Intensity Obstacle Lights Type AC for daily and night mode where the obstacle is particularly large and the height of the surrounding soil is more than 45m.

An overhead power line is a structure used in electric power transmission and distribution to transmit electrical energy along large distances.   When you are flying, the conductors and skyline become almost invisible against the terrain—especially the skyline  wires . The colored plastic balls hanging on overhead electricity wires are called aerial marker balls, and they are installed along the length of wires to act as a visual warning so low-flying aircraft don’t run into them. They're called visibility marker balls or marker balls.  You'll often find them near mountain passes, in the deep valley areas, near major freeway crossings and around airports.
