Conductor marking lights for overhead power lines

Why do we need conductor marking light for power line?

  • Conductor marking lights are a particular type of aircraft warning lights designed for overhead power lines. They are visible at night, unlike overhead wire markers which rely on daylight.
  • Conductor marking lights increase night conspicuity of transmission line catenary wires near airports, heliports, across rivers. Lamps mark and light overhead power lines support structures (towers) as well as high voltage transmission line catenary wires. It is one assembly light with multi-LEDS technology. Dedicated to the beaconing of high voltage lines,it is a long life system (100,000 hours). Its compact design and light weight allow the quickest and easiest installation on the market.
How does this condcutor marking light worked?

The conductor marking light is based on Faraday's Law of induction involving Magnetic Flux flowing through a circuit which powers the warning light.
The Warning light is powered by the magnetic field surrounding the power distribution wire and uses an electronic circuit integrated in a compact clamp-on warning light. The operating principle is that of a Rogowski coil, similar to a current transformer. This solution is usually intended for medium and high voltage lines up to 500 kV. However inductive coupling devices are able to work on any AC at 50 Hz or 60 Hz, from 15A up to 2000A.

Where does this conductor marking light used?
  • Transmission Line
  • Overhead Power Line
  • Low,medium and high voltage lines

Night Marking Red Obstruction Light System for Transmission Tower

High-voltage lines are major hazards for low-flying aircraft. Placing beacons on pylons is not sufficient to ensure safety due to the very long spans of cable. - Day Marking The warning ball for high voltage lines is a visual anti-aircraft protection for overhead wires and OPGW wires in high voltage transmission lines. It is recommended that in the case of a sphere with a diameter of 60 cm, the high-voltage line should be marked every 30 meters at the most. - Night Marking Conductor marking lights serve as a specialized category of aircraft warning lights specifically crafted for overhead power lines. In contrast to overhead wire markers that rely on daylight, conductor marking lights are designed to be visible during nighttime. These lights enhance the visibility of transmission line catenary wires in the vicinity of airports, heliports, and locations spanning across rivers. It is built around induction and takes its power from the current of the line, by the intermediary of a multi-winding coil directly installed within the beacon. This allows our system to adapt to every line voltage.
